I often talk about how I weave self care into my day through little rituals I have created over time ... meditating with my cacao in the morning after the school drop off, writing in my journal with a delicious little treat, or mindfully enjoying a cup of herbal tea with all of my senses.
I wanted to create a box where all of the products worked in harmony with each other, to help you create your own self care ritual.
The products included are, as always, from small, Irish businesses.

Holistic Me
You probably know at this stage that I love to create a peaceful atmosphere using essential oils and candles in my home. In fact my diffuser is humming quietly beside me on the desk as I type this.
For this box I wanted to introduce you to something a little different and included a White Sage and Lavender Stick from Holistic Me. Cultures across the globe burn sage during rituals and it is said to have many benefits including purifying the air (sage is anti microbial so can clear the air of bugs and bacteria), lifting your mood and reducing stress.
It's a lovely way to create a ritual around journalling, by burning some sage and having the smell envelop you as you write, turning your writing ritual into a full sensory experience.
The White Sage and Lavender Sticks are from Holistic Me. Based in Dublin Holistic Me was set up by John Egan and is dedicated to providing quality holistic products to help you look after your mind, body and spirit.
Zaeire
Long time subscribers will recognise this delicious treat which made an appearance in the February 2020 Mama Moment's box (and I have had repeated requests to include it again since!). This delicious white chocolate and raspberry bark is the perfect 'mama only' treat to enjoy as part of your me time ritual.
Made by Zaeire, which was founded by lovely Leigh Kelly, Zaeire is based in Wexford and Leigh now has an amazing shop featuring not only her own delicious chocolates but products from small business from all over Ireland (including the Mama Moments Gratitude Journals 😉).
Solaris Botanicals
I love herbal tea and as we transition into a new season it's the perfect caffeine free hot drink to enjoy curled up on the couch with a cosy blanket. Inside this box you will find the brand new Fresh Bloom tea from Solaris Botanicals. Created especially for women, this new range of teas has sprung from owner, Karin's Müller 20 years experience of working with women. Karin is a mother of two, practicing midwife and medical herbalist and has a passionate interest in supporting women to connect to their own inner rhythm and feel empowered and supported during pregnancy and childbirth
Solaris Botanicals is based in Galway and is owned by husband and wife team Karin and Joerg Müller. I am delighted to be featuring Solaris in a Mama Moments box again and was thrilled to be offered this brand new tea to share with you!
Ruth's Palm Free
My evening ritual always includes mindfully enjoying my skincare routine with all my senses, and I love to put on some lipbalm at the end. Lipbalm to me feels so nourishing and like that little cherry on top of my skincare routine.
I am a HUGE fan of Ruth's Palm Free lipbalms and long time subscribers will have received the nourish lipbalm in early 2020 and her peppermint lipbalm in last year's Christmas Box. They are absolutely divine, with no nasties, vegan friendly and so incredibly nourishing.
Handmade down the road from me in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Ruth always bikes up to deliver my orders and we end up having great chats about small business life and sustainability. When Ruth dropped up this order I recommended the Netflix documentary Chasing Coral to her (have you watched it yet Ruth? 😉) and if you've not seen it yourself << Test First Name >> I definitely recommend it.
Mama Moments
And the final product in The Rituals Box is my very own Mama Moments Gratitude Journal*.
Gratitude journalling was the start of my self care journey. It saved me from the dark place I was in post partum and helped me find my way back to who I was. It's such an incredibly effective self care practice and the very first Mama Moments box back in August 2018 actually included a list of gratitude prompts to use with the notebook that had been included. But I always knew I wanted to create a Gratitude Journal, one that felt good in your hand and was a pleasure to write in. One that makes the practice of gratitude journalling easy with simple, daily prompts.
I launched the journal August last year and it has been a huge hit ever since .. with some of you on your 3rd one already!
*the original final product in The Rituals Box was to be the brand new Mama Moments notebook which is unfortunately still being held hostage in customs. Any subscribers who requested to receive the notebook will have it shipped separately to them once it arrives. In the meantime, anyone who purchases The Rituals Box on demand from the website will receive the gratitude journal.
